Becoming a disciple of Jesus means following Him. Following Him means learning what He wants us to do and doing it! Following Jesus requires discipline, which is why He called his followers disciples! By discipline, we do not mean punishment, we mean learning a skill or way of life through constant practice. Playing basketball, learning the piano or learning to drive all require discipline. Following Jesus is no different, except that He gives us the patience and courage that we need through the power of His Holy Spirit!
At Jesus the Good Shepherd, we have a Discipleship Program that begins with the ABCD Class Series and is followed by practicing daily prayer and Bible Study.
